You’ll notice there’s not much room for advertising on our website. That’s deliberate.
We don’t want our website to be a jumble of ads that intermingle with the news, blurring lines and fragmenting readers’ attention. We trust that serious readers of LGBT news are–like readers of The New Yorker and The Economist–seeking information, not diversion; and efficiency, not overload.
Also, in this age where news organizations are striving to survive, we believe diversity is the answer. Thus, Keen News Service will rely on a variety of sustaining entities:
- Advertising – In addition to the two banner ads available on the top of every page, advertisers can consider buying ads at the ends of articles.
- Philanthropic contributions – delivering news of consequence to the LGBT community is an increasingly vital public service. Organizations with a commitment to serving the community can make contributions to help support the production of news and/or its delivery to the community.
